As we march down our path to success, every Leader, no matter how strong and resolute, may occasionally experience a moment of doubt and fear. We bow our heads, or look to the heavens, and wonder if...
When our ambition to change our world for the better weakens and wobbles...we can find strength and kinship in the words our 20th President James A. Garfield.
"Tell me Burke, do you not feel a spirit stirring within you that longs to know, to do, and to dare-to hold converse with the great world of thought, and hold before you some high and noble object to which the vigor of your mind and the strength of your arm may be given? Do you not have longings like these, which you breathe to no one, and which you feel must be heeded, or you will pass through life unsatisfied and regretful? I am sure that you have them, and they will forever cling round your heart until you obey their mandate. They are the voices of that nature that God has given you, and which, when obeyed, will bless you and your fellow-men."
(Letter to a Friend, Burke Hinsdale,1857)
Through his words to his friend Burke, we know that the flames of ambition sometimes flicker. That's when we re-double our efforts and move forward. With that, we secure our success.
Burke went on to achieve personal success, and positively impacted thousands of lives. But, who knows, if it weren't for this letter, and the energy it spoke into his heart, things may have been very different. We know that it meant enough to him to have kept it, sharing it periodically through the years.
At Ngage, we know that high and noble longing, it clings round our hearts, and if you're reading this, you likely do as well.
Burke was fortunate to have the support of a brother-in-arms like James. We provide that kind of support for other leaders. We share best, what we need most, so in turn, we are strengthened as well.
We'd love to walk that winding path of success with you...
