KNOW HOW A SHIP WORKS BEFORE YOU SAIL

9/9/2014

Sailing the ocean is serious business.  Would you sail across the ocean without knowing how a sailing ship works?  You shouldn't.  Would you depart on that ocean voyage if you didn't know what language the crew spoke?  Sound's like a formula for struggle and failure.

But that's what most business leaders attempt everyday.  They create plans, policies, and programs designed to inspire employees, and attract new customers, without really understanding how the human brain works to make decisions and build relationships.  That wastes valuable time and profit potential.

No worries.  We got this.  We're a leader in the practical application of modern brain science that advances our understanding of how to influence behaviors and build relationships. These are proven scientific principles that are interwoven into the strategies of the fastest growing, most-profitable companies, and integrated into all of our solutions.

Plainly stated, most of the business world still utilizes business practices and sales principles that were developed nearly a century ago.  Most experts and consultants simply re-broadcast some variation of yesterday's ideas.

We integrate all of the most sophisticated management processes and business analytics, with programs and initiatives that incorporate an advanced understanding of how our brains actually work.  The results are innovative solutions that are guaranteed to produce measurable results for your business.

Sound expensive?  It's not.  Quite the contrary.
Sound complicated.  It's not that either.  Our step by step processes make it sort of simple.

There's no reason to delay.  Our step-by-step Discovery Consultation process is simple, and has no cost to you.

So, make a minute...let's chat about your business. Businesspeople have great stories, we look forward to hearing yours.

REVOLUTIONARY "NEW" BUSINESS PRINCIPLES

9/4/2014

As Business Leaders, we search for ways to elicit greater employee engagement, to motivate people to invest their fullest effort, to engage the sum of their skills and talents in achieving the company's goals and objectives.

We know first-hand, the positive effect this fuller application of self has had in improving the quality and quantity of our own work, and in our personal and professional development. And it's a proverbial "win-win'...It's good for the individual and for the company.

We can measure the positive effect that work quality, response times, and employee attitudes have on customer experience and satisfaction ratings.  And we are keenly aware of the direct impact that the strength of customer relationships have on profitability.

We labor long into the evening to develop the plan that will finally produce the kind of sales performance, employee productivity, and cost-efficiencies that we believe the people, and the process are capable of achieving.

We search for effective ways to make people more satisfied with their opportunity...and to have them share our devotion to the company cause, and in our vision of what is possible.

We struggle against the difficulties and cost associated with recruiting the right people.  We fully comprehend the range of detrimental effects that accompany employee turnover.

We scan our workforce for the process managers and business leaders that the company needs tomorrow, and lament the fact that we don't see them in our workforce today.

So, to address all of these very real, tangible issues, most business leaders come up with perfectly rational, tangible solutions.  We increase compensation plans, enrich the company benefits package, re-model the employee break area, buy new office furniture, or organize off-site team-building events. Logical right? Yes. Effective? Not so much. These types of solutions are costly, and rarely produce a significant, measurable ROI.

That's because what really engages humans, inspires our greatest efforts, and produces our deepest satisfactions...goes far deeper than how much we are paid in dollars or benefits, the aesthetic appeal of our office space, the ergonomic quality of the seating, or anything available through inter-departmental go-cart competitions, and/or challenging rope courses.

The fact is that...The solutions to these complex, inter-related business issues, that are so elusive to so many business leaders, lie squarely in front of us in the form of some basic human emotional-health principles, and scientifically established brain processes.

In fact, it's strange that such simple, cost-effective solutions that positively impact such a broad range of critical business issues, would be so throughly ignored, and grossly under-valued in the workplace.

Oddly enough, the most basic principles of emotional health and simple keys to personal achievement and fulfillment...that so many of us accept and exercise in our personal lives...are almost completely forsaken in our professional lives.

We find that confusing, because no matter the situational differences, we are no less human at work than we are at home.  Our brains operate in exactly the same way regardless of geographic location, day of week, or activity.

The ways that we, as humans, receive the greatest fulfillment, through which we express our fullest potential, and upon which we build the strongest relationships, operate identically at work as they do at home.

The time has come for these scientific principles to be utilized in the workplace.  In fact...they already are.  Virtually all of the fastest growing, most profitable companies ("Out-Performers") have begun to utilize these ideas into their organizational processes.

Why haven't you?  They are amazingly cost-effective, and have an almost immediate, measurable impact on your company's people, processes, and profit.

We love to talk People, Process, and Profit. Click on the LETS TALK button below to set up a time to chat for a few minutes, and we'll explain the details of these powerful principles.

PROFIT THROUGH PURPOSE

It takes a tremendous amount of focused energy and intentional leadership to make people try something they've never experienced, or to adopt a new behavior.

But that's exactly what any company, intent on real improvement and rapid growth, must do.

Modern brain science demonstrates that decision-making and behavior are most easily influenced through appeals to our emotional minds.  This means that the quickest, most cost-effective way to drive wholesale behavioral change, and rapid adoption of new ideas, is through how we feel...about a company, an opportunity, or a product.

In human groups and organizations, whether families, schools, churches, companies, or countries, our shared values are our greatest motivators, and our strongest emotional bonds are communicated and sustained through mutually accepted culture.

So, in order to quickly entice someone to consider your product or service...or inspire employees to swiftly adopt new outlooks and behaviors...or to motivate existing customers to return more often...business leaders must articulate and promote a meaningful company culture.

In order to be effective, that culture has to include something of substance, it must encapsulate a raison d'etre, a deeper purpose for it's existence.  The more meaningful the culture, the more quickly people will be attracted and more deeply loyal they become.

The tenets of the company culture must be something that is seen as worthwhile to all of the individuals involved, and the organizational processes and management techniques should all be intentionally designed to systematically align the company's greater purpose with those of it's employees and customers.

That's key to creating a powerful culture... it must be accepted and shared throughout the organization...it can't just be the leaders' cause, or the company's grand purpose. The cultural cause has to serve the needs of all interested parties, it has to align with your employees' (and customers') personal missions...the grander purpose they feel in their lives.

250,000 people voluntarily showed up at the Mall in Washington D.C. in 1963, and helped move Martin Luther King's mission to end racism forward. But they didn't show up for him...they showed up for themselves, for what it might mean in their lives, for their futures. They set aside their lives and traveled hundreds, or thousands, of miles to be there...because their causes were very well-aligned with his. (See Simon Sinek's TED Talk)

People are willing to go to extraordinary lengths to support a cause that is well-aligned with theirs.

Companies, large or small, that create well-defined, consistently-reinforced business cultures, have employees that demonstrate a deeper engagement and stronger commitment...employees in a culture-based company more fully commit all of their talent, effort, ambition, and energy to achieve company objectives and success.

That's the kind of employment opportunity that we all want, and engaging employees on that deeper level is what propels organizations from mediocre performers to amazingly profitable. The out-performers in every industry, establish and emphasize culture.

By communicating cultural values, and demonstrating who their authenticity through what they do, culture-based companies also build stronger bonds with their customers, and have the opportunity to turn customers into fans, and fans into evangelists.

Imagine as a businessperson, the customer satisfaction levels you might attain if you could do more business with the people who thought and felt more like you do, who valued what you value, and believed what you believe.

Sound complicated or nebulous?  It's Not.  Our end-to-end process actually makes it kind of simple, and the results are concrete.

Measurable Improvements. More Profit.  Easier to Manage.  Accelerated Growth.  Life Margin. It works every time...but only if you do it.

DOUBT & NOBLE LONGINGS

8/7/2014

As we march down our path to success, every Leader, no matter how strong and resolute, may occasionally experience a moment of doubt and fear. We bow our heads, or look to the heavens, and wonder if...

When our ambition to change our world for the better weakens and wobbles...we can find strength and kinship in the words our 20th President James A. Garfield.

"Tell me Burke, do you not feel a spirit stirring within you that longs to know, to do, and to dare-to hold converse with the great world of thought, and hold before you some high and noble object to which the vigor of your mind and the strength of your arm may be given?  Do you not have longings like these, which you breathe to no one, and which you feel must be heeded, or you will pass through life unsatisfied and regretful?  I am sure that you have them, and they will forever cling round your heart until you obey their mandate.  They are the voices of that nature that God has given you, and which, when obeyed, will bless you and your fellow-men."

(Letter to a Friend, Burke Hinsdale,1857)

Through his words to his friend Burke, we know that the flames of ambition sometimes flicker. That's when we re-double our efforts and move forward.  With that, we secure our success.

Burke went on to achieve personal success, and positively impacted thousands of lives. But, who knows, if it weren't for this letter, and the energy it spoke into his heart, things may have been very different.  We know that it meant enough to him to have kept it, sharing it periodically through the years.

At Ngage, we know that high and noble longing, it clings round our hearts, and if you're reading this, you likely do as well.

Burke was fortunate to have the support of a brother-in-arms like James.  We provide that kind of support for other leaders.  We share best, what we need most, so in turn, we are strengthened as well.

We'd love to walk that winding path of success with you...

Take a moment...give us a call and let's chat about what that might look like.

JUST A COUPLE OF DEGREES

Most leaders striving for growth and success  are doing many of the right things. But just a couple of degrees of  adjustment alters their whole trajectory.  Ask yourself every morning... What trajectory am I on?  What adjustments do I need to make today?

Wait for the answers.  Then, when the clear answers come, put fear aside and act decisively.  If the clear answers don't come, seek the counsel you need to find them.

We'll help you find the clear answers, and then develop a sensible plan of action to make the few degrees of adjustment you need to dramatically alter your trajectory.

It's what we love to do...it's what we do best.
Take a moment and give us a call.  We have these conversations with leaders everyday.

We love talking about people, processes, and profits.  We hope to talk with you soon.

ADULTS @ HOME & WORK

Most people are successful at running their lives as adults at home. Why, then, would we create an organization that treats them like adolescents at work?

Too often, businesses are organized like the military, with all of the decision-making and implementation orders coming from the top. Sometimes its intentional, but most often, it just evolves that way over time.

Organized this way, it's no wonder that a business leader would have little faith in the talents and capabilities of the people around them. How could they? They are wholly unfamiliar with them.

Offer more to the people around you, and more is returned. Ask greater of the people near you, and greater is delivered. Treat people as though they are special, and the special in them appears. Seek to improve everyday, and improvement finds you.

These words are sweet to the ear, and sound true to the heart.  But what does it mean to your organization, and how do you make that happen?

This is "all" you have to do...Create an intentional business culture, and a formalized management process around these principles, and profit & growth for the company flow as naturally as the river to the sea.

Sound complicated or nebulous?  It's Not.  Our end-to-end process actually makes it kind of simple, and the results are concrete.

When employees feel valued, challenged, and purposeful;  greater profit and growth for the company follow like a wheel behind the oxen.

The key then, is to shape an organizational process, a management approach, and a company culture that forges a sense of value, challenge, and purpose in it's employees.

That's precisely what we do at Integrated Profit. Sound expensive and impossibly complicated? It's neither.  Quite the contrary.  Managing a company without these things?  Now that's complicated and expensive!

We've got a super-efficient step-by-step Discovery Consultation process that will allow us insight and perspective in very short order.

Issues & Obstacles

Issues and obstacles abound in business and life. It doesn't take much effort or thought on our part to create an issue. In fact, inaction and thoughtlessness are highly effective issue-creators.

Solutions, however, usually require far deeper thought and effort. Most often, it requires a great deal more analysis, creativity, planning and collaboration than it required to create it.

"No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it." (Albert Einstein)

We'd love to talk to you about some of the issues and obstacles that challenge your business.  Nothing is more powerful than a team.  Let's talk about the team we might be together.
